Description
The Heat of Neutralisation (HON) Tumbler is used in stabilising agent content tests to mix the fresh test sample with buffer solution, using a standard 4.5 litre plastic bottle as the mixing container.
The test is performed to determine the stabilising agent content of fresh soil and crushed rock samples that have been stabilised with cements and hydrated limes. The test relies upon the exothermic reaction of free alkalis in the stabilising agent with a buffered acetic acid solution, and is limited to stabilising agents that produce an effective temperature rise of at least 4 °C.
Our new Tumbler has been designed to be robust, stable, easy to use, and long lasting.
