Geo-Con has developed a light-weight Concrete Shrinkage Mould for the Drying Shrinkage of Concrete test to AS 1012.8.4/AS 1012.13.
The 3-gang mould alone weighs only 11 kgs empty, a reduction of 8 kgs from our previous all-steel mould. The single gang mould weighs approximately 5 kg. These weight reductions have been achieved by the use of aluminium end plates, a thinner steel base and thinner steel dividers. The aluminium does not come into contact with the concrete.
The moulds are each supplied with a support frame which provides added support to the aluminium end plates during casting, giving the moulds a longer useful life.
Fitted handles and a lifting device for the 3 gang model are available as options.
Our light-weight moulds comply with the Australian Standards and are widely used throughout the concrete testing industry.
Also available for sample preparation are tamping bars, shrinkage stud setting bars or 250mm locators (made from invar rod), and shrinkage studs for either vertical or horizontal comparators.
