Description
The Wykeham Farrance Large Electromechanical Shear Testing Machine – SHEARMATIC 300 EmS combines advanced servo-actuation with full automation to perform direct and residual shear tests on large soil samples or other materials up to 300 x 300 mm. Its large capacity is designed to accommodate specimens with coarse particles up to 20 mm in diameter.
Inserts for testing smaller sample sizes are also available (see accessories).
Thanks to the new Electromechanical Servoactuation (EmS) technology, the system requires no hydraulic motor with oil pump, eliminating the need for oil maintenance and ensuring a cleaner and more efficient solution.
Fully automatic
The sample is consolidated via a closed loop electromechanical system for the automatic programmable application of the vertical load. The horizontal displacement is driven by an high resolution stepper motor.
Flexible control solutions
The control of the unit, including full test execution, can be achieved in two alternative ways:
- Remote control from PC*: when remote control mode is used, the PC software, SOILMASTER T&A, serves as the user interface and manages the main functions, as well as channel calibration through linear, polynomial, and multi-coefficient curves.
- Active control from the user interface: full test execution is possible without the need for a PC. The user interface is based on a large 6″ color touchscreen display, allowing the user to start, pause, and stop tests, select the data recording mode, view readings during test execution, and perform transducer calibration. The unit is supplied with a USB flash drive for virtually unlimited storage and TXT-format data output.
*Note: an optional all-in-one PC assembly, mounted on a support arm, is also available. It offers an ergonomic and space-saving solution for a compact and streamlined test execution.
Clarity in results
Results are then processed using SOILMASTER P&R Processing and Reporting, written by experts around international standards allowing you to concentrate on analyzing your materials; not on programing your testing machine.
