The report did not say which Leighton subsidiary would receive the contract.
In July, Thiess was awarded the $500 million earthworks and site preparation contract.
Thiess is also part of a consortium that won a $500 million contract to design and construct an accommodation village at Barrow Island capable of housing 3300 people.
Gorgon partners Chevron, Shell and ExxonMobil announced their final investment decision on Monday.
On Tuesday, Chevron awarded a $2.7 billion contract to build the three-train LNG facility on Barrow Island to the Kellogg joint venture group, which includes Clough and Hatch.
