Rock Strength Index Tester by Controls Italy
The apparatus consists of a load frame 60 kN capacity with a hydraulic loading ram actuated by a hand pump.
The frame is adjustable to allow for testing sample up to 102 mm dia. A ruler assembled on the frame allows for direct measurement of the distance D between the conical platens before and after the test.
The compression load is measured by a pressure transducer with an advanced digital display unit assuring the best accuracy and resistance to the failure shocks.
The machine, fitted with the accessory 45-D0550/D5, can also be used for compression tests on small cores or cylindrical specimens.
The apparatus is contained in an easily transportable steel case.
- • Load range: 0-60 kN
- • Resolution: up to over 30.000 div.

New Troxler 3430 Plus and 3440 Plus Surface Moisture-Density Gauges
Troxler introduces the new and updated versions of the popular gauges which have been offered to customers for many years. The Model 3430 Plus and 3440 Plus gauges have been updated to offer more advanced electronics, updated software, and improved features. These new devices were designed to be very similar to the current nuclear gauges that Troxler customers have become accustomed to, while offering many user-friendly features and some options which are brand new to the industry. Some of these new features and options include a larger display screen, measurement data storage in all gauges, a backlit LCD screen and automatic measurement data storage.
These two models appear very similar to each other, utilizing the same keypad and software, however the 3440 Plus offers many features never before seen on a nuclear gauge. These brand new features include: a remote start keypad, USB data transfer option, loud external beeper, and GPS capabilities (optional).
Both the Model 3430 Plus & 3440 Plus gauges offer these features and capabilities:
- • Direct readout of wet density, dry density, moisture, % moisture, % voids, and % compaction
- • Powered by rechargeable NiMH batteries or backup alkaline batteries
- • Moisture, density, and trench offsets to adjust gauge measurements
- • Larger 4-line x 20-character display screen
- • Measurement data storage in all gauges
- • Backlit LCD screen
- • Automatic measurement record storage
- • Nomograph method for measurement of asphalt overlays
- • Forty years of Troxler experience and an extended eighteen month warranty give you the confidence you need in your field testing equipment
The Model 3440 Plus offers the same basic features as the Model 3430 Plus, but with these enhanced capabilities:
- • Remote start keypad on top of handle
- • USB port for data transfer via removable flash memory (“thumb” drive) or USB printer
- • Loud external beeper to indicate end of a count
- • Automatic indexing - Gauge senses the depth of the source rod automatically
- • Optional GPS (global positioning system) function - Reports latitude and longitude of measurement location at completion of reading
- • Backlit keypad for viewing in dimly lit jobsites
Moisture Meters for construction materials by NDT James Instruments Inc.
This range of instruments determines moisture content of construction materials. This is a critical factor in determining quality of final construction. The Trident™ utilizes the latest microwave and microprocessor technology to measure moisture content in various fine and coarse-grained sand and aggregates. The prongs of the probe are inserted into the material to be tested and the percentage of moisture content is instantaneously shown on the easy to read display.
The James Aquameter™ is an advanced digital instrument, using a high frequency capacitive sensor to accurately measure the water content of concrete, masonry, brick, gypsum and most solid materials. This line of products represents the most effective and efficient way to evaluate concrete and other materials in the field and utilizes the latest in technology in order to guarantee accurate results.
